made them look like mpcs and added knobs and software and you are gonna pay $1299 for a midi controller souped up mpd called the mpc renaissance?
firs the ipad3 said it has that stunning new retina screen, but when take a pic and it looks good on your ipad3 does it look good on someones ipad 2 or someones computer or phone? nahh their phone doesn't have that "stunning retina display" and ipad3 doesn't even have a much better camera than before.. but why add a better camera when i can fool you by having you think the picture is great because i'm giving you a stunning retina display..
really who are these companies fooling?

i ain't gonna buy that sh!t... don't lump us ALL into that same category... don't worry though... these will come out and go down in value within a year once the software fails miserably at doing what it's supposed to [i dare AKAI to prove me wrong here... please do]... AKAI hasn't put out anything worthwhile since the mpc2500. and we all know that operating systems and programs are NOT something they've ever been good at. oh well...

Yes. I will buy two of them. I can give you several dozen reasons why...but this information is already in numerous threads.

You can keep using the MPC 1000 or 2500. Both good units in my opinion.

I knew it would only take minutes for an MPC 1000 thread to leak and continue on in a thread in this forum.

Pssss - nobody cares. Feel free to gripe and b!tch as much as you like.

I have never received anything free or discounted from Akai oustide of some black pads they threw in for me when I sent my MPC 2500 in for a check up when I got the dreaded Systems Test bug. Every MPC I have ever owned was paid for by yours truly..ME....it's well documented in the forums.

If I ever receive a free MPC Ren, you will be the first to know (if I am allowed to tell you ). I'll even show you my American Musical or Sweetwater receipt if that will make you happy. lol

As far as spamming...as a forum member, I have the same right as you to post threads/replies as long as I do not violate forum rules. This entire forum is dedicated to Akai MPCs and its users...so I will continue to discuss.......you got it.....AKAI MPCs. :P

without looking at the threads, im going to say Native instruments forced akai into a position where they thought they had to release another shit product. almost like trying to make nano keys in line of korg or who ever. there playing catchup i reckon.

K.I.M. Keep IT Movin' should be the motto all companies should live by...It was due time for AKAI to drop a new product, and youre right, It does seem like they dropped the ball and let NI steal a little of their shine 4 a minute...
But when the Dub-step dudes find out how weird and wonderful them 16 knobs layered with EFX makes the music sound, they too will be copping one-a-deez joints...
The Ipad, and Iphone are both overpriced hype, and I will agree, aint fooling the KID...Im waiting for them to make an IPAD you can talk on the phone with, I mean, whats the point of having to pay for a 4G nut-werk, without having a telephony?

Approx every 3-4 years since 1987, Akai has released a new MPC. Since the last MPC came out in 2008, Akai is pretty much on schedule give or take a few months.

In order to play catch up, you have to be behind. NI's Maschine has been on the market for 3 years now and it still can't accomplish basic tasks that a 10 year old MPC can accomplish. From what I have seen from the MPC Ren (even in beta), NI better come correct with either an OS update or revamp the Maschine hardware. Otherwise, Maschine will fade like Kore/Kore 2...or the Roland MV series. Yes, remember the MV series. Everyone thought Akai's days were numbered. Only after being on the market for approx 5 years, 2 models later...Roland folded.

Change is a trip. I wonder why we judge so hard on a product that we supposedly dont care about and frankly non of us really know anything about. I guess these new mp(c)ontrollers must have hit the right note because it has certainly polarized the MPC community. Love or Hate type of deal.

Here is what happens when a company that i would normally patronize releases a product that I dont really care for.... "ahh not for me. moving along." I for one have drank the APPLE Koolade (I like their products... a lot) but I dont want the new ipad 3 still i aint gonna bash it.

I wonder why its so different with akai products. I happen to dig some of the alleged features but I am happy with my MPC so thats it. i'm on mine until things change my mind. But what I usually see here is something I've never witnessed before. ""BURN BURN KILL AKAI. and the horse they rode in on."   seems simple enough to move along and let the cats that are interested buy in. whats it hurt anyone else?
