I got my eye on that Apollo. Advertisements state it is shipping but it is no where in stock.

Yeah. I plan on buying a new interface this year and I am debating between the UAD Apollo, RME UFX, and Apogee Symphony I/O.
I have always loved RME products. But the Apollo seems to give me more at a $2000 price tag. The Apogee unit cost $2000 just to add some analog I/O.
Just checked Sweetwater and they have the Apollo in stock.

The Omni doesn't have thunderbolt, firewire, or USB options. So you will still need a way to interface it with a Mac/PC.

@ jah .. i know im off topic but .. im looking for a mixer / console .. analog / digital .. best of both words .. like the ssl matrix . and maybe the a and h zed ... i have about $ 5-10000 .. .. i wana run my asr 10 thast 8 outs .. my asr 10 rack thats 8 outs .. my eps 16 .. thats 8 outs .. and my mpc .. ect do i need a sumit .. pacth pay or a mixer/ console ....

Depends on what you plan on doing with it. If you don't plan on having multiple machines running at the same time, then you don't need to have a dedicated console input for each drum machine output. So running them all through a patchbay and into a small console would save you some money. But if you want them to be able to all run together then you're gonna need something with a lot of channels. And SSL Matrix will cover you for sure with 8 channels left to spare. But the Matrix is over $20,000! Plus another $400-500 in D-Sub cables (unless you build your own) just to connect all the gear to it!

I took all that into consideration. This is why I am leaning towards the UAD with built in firewire. I plan on using it with an iMac or Mac Pro tower.
With an iMac, I don't see a cost effective solution to using an Omni. Using a Mac Pro, I would still have to buy a PCI sound card which would add on another $600 plus to the price.
