Feature Request- PC monitor to mirror MPC Ren's hardware LCD

Recent feedback in these forums made me think about a feature that would make the MPC Ren/Studio feel like using a classic hardware MPC.

So I suggest an option in the software that you can turn on, that would display exactlly what the hardware LCD is showing...like a mirror mode of some sort. When its activated, your computer monitor will look exactly like the MPC Ren's hardware LCD. It would give you the same workflow as having an MPC with an external monitor attached similar to the MPC 3000 and its VGA option.

Hmm! I'm not following! Would you be working from the controller or from the mouse?

think something like the MV8k with an LCD attached where you can see whatever is on the machine screen

Those show a lot more on the computer screen than whats on the MV screen though, from what I've seen!

If this is what you're talk about Jah, I don't really see the point:

I think with two monitor screens you'll be fine without this feature.

Yeah, that is exactly what I am talking about. It seems like a good idea that came to me while reading through all these threads about people not wanting to use a mouse..not wanting to look at the monitor, etc. A true vintage mode.

Hmmm! No sense in knocking the idea, but this is likely a feature I wouldn't use.

THATS A GOOD IDEA .. BUT DOESN'T .. THE MASCHINE DO THAT ?? IDK I USED MY MASCHINE 5 TIMES THEN PUT IT AWAY .. oh no now i rember ,, i had 2 use the mouse to click to the screen i was in . when i was using the controller ... idk its been a wile .. yea i think thats a must .. i dont want 2 do any extra steps ... what i see on the mpc ren .. i should see whats on my montier @ all times..

None taken. That's why this is a poll. But I've seen others that could give it a run for it's money such as no graphic waveform editing as a feature request. Lol. This is for the guys that want to cover up their monitors and hide the keyboard and mouse when using the Ren as the prefer the classic way of creating music on an MPC.

That's why I don't really see the point. Can't you already do that without this feature? Andy said in the last video that you can do 100% of the features right from the controller. How would this make any difference?

at least the MV looks like FL Studio. it was also released a crapload of years later than the 3k though so i can't really compare them

Having all those bright colors may negatively impact ol skool producers capability to make music. So if you give them an option to make the software look like an MPC 3000 hooked up to a VGA, they should feel right at home.

You are 100% correct. That is why I wasn't upset that the initial plan was not to include waveform editing on the 2x6 inch LCD when we have full screen editing on a monitor. I only wanted MPC LCD waveform editing so MPC users wouldn't b!tch and to minimize the hate from naysayers. Now its a dead issue...but I am sure more will eventually surface.

The MV was released approx a decade after the MPC 3000. Screen on the new MPC Ren looks very similar to the MV and other DAWs on the market.
