Im thinking about buying the the studio and i was wondering if anyone could explain the sampling capabilities of the new MPC software for example can i load a sample into to the software, chop it and assign it to individual pads?...Ive never owned an mpc and im on a budget so i was wondering if the Studio was worth the investment

I never chop my samples...Its inhuman, violent and causes unknown suffering in third world countries...perhaps instead of slapping around innocent pad controllers like the studio and renny, and "ASSigning" them humilating, circuit board numbing brainless tasks like sequencing beats, you should allow them to graze happily on their own, next to your wireless mouse... 8)

You will be able to load or record a sample, and chop it. There is a new function added that automaps the slices to pads while still in the Edit Mode. You can hit a pad and quickly edit its start and end points. Once you have all your slices edited the way you like, you can export it as a program.

If you look at the MusikMesse thread in this forum, Andy is giving a demo of how these new MPCs chop samples.
