Can the Renn or Studio quickly render midi/vsti parts to aud

This may have been covered already but I didn't see it. Can the Renn or Studio quickly render midi vst instrument parts to audio and then quickly chop and assign parts to a pad as audio samples? I'm mainly using vst instruments these days but would love a quick way to turn them into samples to chop and flip... if the new MPCs could do that in a way that was fast and seamlessly integrated with the MPC workflow that would be awesome.

If you have a good DAW, this is possible by just recording and bouncing, then chopping. I know it's a bit more work than what you're asking for, but it still works.

That's a great idea as DAWs like Cubase can do this. But with what Akai has revealed so far....no.

If Akai doesn't add such a function, you would have to either export your VST instrument track as a mixdown or simply resample it in order to chop it up.

Why would AKAI make a product in wich u can integrate ur vst instruments, and the not be able to export them?

U just export and import them as a regular sample I guess?

UCAudio good to see another voice speaking about sampling VST's.

I have spoken about this in the past on this forum with little luck...no one really wants to talk about it....they do me, like the did you, and talk about all this other stuff. Maybe my posts have the cooties.

Anyway...

I may be wrong but all you asked about was *SAMPLING THE VST INSTRUMENTS* to put it breifley.

I think this is a great idea. I plan on using the ren in a similar fashion. I think we should be able to do this. But like I said above people, at times, have not resposnded to my statments like this directly so maybe they know something we don't. Some one did say that the Ren does not record Audio but I refuse to believe that that includes Sampling.

Nothing against jpeg but if that is the case... THAT'S SOME BULL SH!!!T !!! Because there are two Akai guys that rome this forum so I don't see how there can be anything unknown about this product. They know whether we will be able to sample the VST sounds. All we are talking about here is setting up a midi sequence on a channel, playing it back while sampling, and then assign the sample to a pad. That's my vision of what you where asking about sorry if it is wrong.

If an Akai Product with the name MPC on it (the hell with what it stands for) CAN NOT SAMPLE SOUNDS, especially sounds available to its own software, then we need to close this entire forum RIGHT NOW! ...

All the whys....and the product isn't even out yet.

Akai is working to ensure all the core MPC functions are working. The MPC Ren, like any new software product, will not include every feature you can possibly imagine. The MPC Ren will not be a full blown DAW like Pro Tools, Nuendo/Cubase, DP, Logic, etc. As of today...there are NO AUDIO TRACKS in the MPC Ren/Studio. But they do record/sample audio like any other MPC. You will be able to export VST instrument tracks as audio. You will be able to sample your VSTs instruments/effects. "Render" function seen in the leading DAWs is not currently advertised so I wouldn't expect it. But its a possibility it could be added in the future as OS updates are planned.

This is not an official Akai forum. Dan and Andy come here from time to time to answer questions. They have been doing an outstanding job. They are extremely busy getting these new MPCs ready. So if they overlooked your question, I don't believe it was done intentionally.

If you're looking for an easy way to convert MIDI from VSTs into audio check out reaper. You just right click on the MIDI track u want to convert and render FX as new track and it instantly converts your midi into audio... so dope. Reaper should be way more popular. It so great to use..

I'm guessing there would be a "resample" function that would allow this fairly easily

I'm sure Akai will change it before release.

I saw in one of the demonstration videos last night that the new software can quickly internally resample a sound with your vst effects applied to it to save on processing power etc. If they implemented that, seems like they may have done something similar to let you internally resample vst instruments. Guess we'll just have to wait and see unless Dan or Andy return.
