Will the Ren be able to load Maschine's Kits/Instruments?

If it can, that means you can have all the maschines sound libraries, ON TOP of the 3GB of sounds AKAI has included with the REN!!!

Im not talking about Kontakt, Reaktor, etc,... just the stock maschine kits/instruments/sounds, just instead of using them in maschine, use them on the REN

or would maschhine have to be plugged in for this to work? I know I can just sample maschines sounds into the REN but it would be nice for the maschine sounds/kits to be able to load up in the REN browser

I'm a hardware head and not that familiar with all this new software vst plug in stuff

can anyone hit me with some knowledge on this?

Think of it this way you will have the samples on the same drive in most cases like a sp1200 and mpc access it at the same time as wav files. But an sp1200 doesn't load the mpc programs this case the Ren may not maschines programs. However the maschine can load mpc programs up to 2500 I think.

So you will have access to the wav files which is organized by types kick folder, snare folder and yada, yada, but not to the maschine kits as in all previous hardware system the program aka kits format is different unless akai has something hidden under the sleeves.

I am already using Maschine's drum sounds in several other applications. I have a dedicated partition on my harddrive dedicated to my sample library. I will add a link to Maschine's sounds inside the Ren for easy access.

I am not sure if I plan on creating MPC Ren keygroup programs out of Machines instruments. Probably too time comsuming. Plus I always have the option of using Maschine as a plugin within the MPC Ren.....

So basically what you guys are saying, it is (or may be) possible to route the machine sounds to the Ren? But they just won't show up in the browser as lets say wav files? That there may be some way to use midi, or use maschine as a plug-in in the Ren? Possibly? And that this is all based on that maschine and the mpc generally use different file formats?

also...what do you mean jah, when you say you have a "dedicated partition" on your HD for your samples? and how will you "add a link" to Machine's sounds to be used in the Ren

and Blue Haze, I have the maschine and all its content on my hard drive, where is the folder that contains the sounds? I understand the kit formats are different, but where does maschine store it's wav files?

also, I appreciate the info you guys are giving, makes me understand how software works a little more, I kind of get it, but kind of don't, lol i dunno but good looking on the replies, I would love to have Maschine and Ren sounds all on the Ren, also I understand the key group thing would be a bit tedious since maschine is using it's own formatting or whatever in it's software. I hope the maschine can plug into the Ren and allow you to use both, with the Ren being the master so to say, and the maschine the slave.

Any of Maschine's wavefiles can be easily loaded. But Maschine's multisampled instruments will need to be mapped to MPC keygroup programs.

Using Maschine as a plugin will work pretty much like it does with anyother DAW.

A partition is just breaking down your hard drive into two or more sections. Done properly, it looks like you have multiple drives installed on your computer. My PC only has one hard drive. So I created a seperarte partition which I only store samples on. The MPC Ren allows 5 short cuts to access your computers harddrive/desk top. One of these short cuts can be used to point the browser to Maschine's sample library. Maschine library should be installed in the Native Instrument's folder most likely found in your PCs' Program folder...that is unless you choose another location when the program was installed.

Yeah like Jah said you will be able to see maschine waves from the browsers. Though on a Mac you can use finder to find them they are in a bit complicated pathway so you got to dig for them. I do it for logic, battery and a lot but as we said before building your own kit from them can and will be timeconsuming. Same for the multisamples but a lot of maschine samples are one shots stretched over a key range so not to difficult.

yep!!! I cross rape all libraries too !! i have them as back up really.. and then have a goto drum folder that is my secret weapons..
