I picked up an MPC 4000 today and the damn thing nearly broke my back! The XL is a lightweight in comparison.

Other than that I don't "carry around" my MPC. It sits securely on my desk, but nice build quality is always appreciated.

I would really like to see a solid constructed midi controller at some point, like maschine or this renaissance...chasis and casing made outta metal, wooden jog wheel n side panels with porcelain or glass buttons n pads outta aligator skin and feet made outta aligator teeth...i'd call it the gator thang

the ren wasn't designed to be a "portable" mpc anyway... just look at the size of it... metal casing would have been a wise choice... but i guess then people might confuse it with an ACTUAL MPC.

I guess there 4000 is the best made mpc.

Is it real plastic?
