Numark/Akai has done a great job with the build quality of the MPC Ren.

When you touch it, pick it up, and starting playing with it...you will immediately see this is no MPD. You won't mistake it for being anything but MPC. The build quality of the MPC Ren is equal to or better than any similar product in its price range IMO.

The MPC 3000 is touted as the best built MPC ever made. But it cost $3000 in 1999...today it would cost almost $4000 based on the rate of inflation. I don't believe their is a market for a $4000 drum machine. In this forum...only a hand full of us would buy it...

This has to be among the most overused phrases is this forum...which I reply back just as many times that:
MPC 3000/60 = $3000-$4000 in 1980s/1990
Current MPCs = <$2000

75% of the forum was is diapers when the MPC 60/3000 were released.

$1300 is a lot for plastic! NI Maschine is aluminum. Hopefuly it's the same plastic used for the mpc60-60II.

Build quality, and whether an MPC can handle prolonged extended use is not something I feel you need concern yourself with...

guess you never heard of mpc 60, 3000 or xl...

Sorry,but the xl switches are weak .Sliders and screen are often volatile.My 4k will run forever i think.Will be here when the ren is a doorstop.Id imagine..
