How important is it to have audio tracks in the MPC Ren?

Earlier MPCs didn't have audio tracks. Since the 2500/1000, Akai has added continuous sample tracks. The JJOS added RAM based audio tracks. And the MPC 5000 added hard disk audio tracks.

How important is it to have audio tracks in the MPC Ren? And if they are essential or desired, what type of complimentary features should be included?

think audio tracks will come within the fisrt year, peeps worried about support and update need to realise that when ur updating pc software is likely to be a quicker update cycle then dealing the standalone hardware updates.

plus ni are talking about audio tracks possibly appearing in maschine 2.0 which will likely appear 1st quatre of 2013 so the ren boy will not be left behind so expect audio tracks.

I want audio tracks for sure...but not the way the MPC 5000 implemented them. The MPC 5000 records audio tracks in Hard Disk Mode. I want to see the Ren have audio tracks similar to a DAW. Each track should have the ability to me an MPC drum track, keygroup track, plugin track, or an audio track. And audio tracks should have DAW-like editing directly in the track view; not click on the waveform and it takes you to sample edit mode (like the Fantom G).

i doubt that the programming team at nukai can come up with a bug-free implemention of audio tracks in some form or fashion.

i guess the eta is 2099 then.

just recently started messing with audio tracks in JJ n gotta say it's very convenient feature if you not tryna sample n chop but record on the fly. I think Ren should have it in order to stay relevant

If the Ren was just a sampler, ok, I can live without audio tracks but its being marketed as an all-in-one-to-go-to tool and has DAW features, so audio tracks is a must. I don't care what Dan says, this should be a feature released at launch.

I play keys in pretty much every beat, and do some sort of live percussion in a lot of them... being able to do that straight into the REN software (without having to "sample" it) instead of pro tools would make things a bit more seamless.

But coming from a 2000xl, it's not absolutely necessary. I'd love for it to be eventually included in the software, but I don't think thats a must have on launch day.


edit: for me to say something is absolutely necessary means that if it didn't have that, i'd see the product as a failure.

Most def .It would've been great for the Ren to have it right out the gate .I can wait for it on an update.

I personally dont care for the Ren to have audio tracks. Ultimately all of my work ends up being tracked out in Pro Tools so I wouldnt use it. If anything maybe a way to bounce offline and not in real time, but it may already have that function... Just my opinion. Labels usually want the master session anyway when they purchase the master recording and pay for the project...

The Ren does have an Export Audio tracks function. Audio tracks most likely won't make it in the initial release as they would have advertised this as a core feature. I certainly don't see the Ren as a failure without this function as it is a sampling drum machine sequencer. But as it evolves to potentially add more DAW-like features, audio tracks should be at the top of the list.

They said it outright in the first videos that it wouldn't have Audio tracks. There's no "most likley". It's 100% not going to be there.

so certain are u? eh, how about izotope do u feel they would have enough expertise in house to allow audio track capability? see when u evaluate the ren software u have to factor in that the software is being developed in tandem with another company that specialises in audio manipulation.

The MPC 5000 has audio tracks...and off the top, I can't recall any issues with audio tracks.

well you didnt find any issues doing the beta test on os 1

although in your defense, its hard to find issues if your mpc5k is in the wardrobe
