REN Audio Interface Conversion Quality

Has any one tried using the REN's interface to record Audio from their outboard gear? How would you compare the sound or conversion quality to other interfaces? To clarify, I am not asking about the specs on the box but, rather the actual sound just using one's ears to compare.

If I get the REN a year from now this will be the only Audio interface I'd use. Just because most of what I do is on the computer. I only have one piece of outboard gear.

Just like all those asking about Vintage Mode, the quality of the Ren's converters will be a subjective issue.

Everyone will have their own opinion which is fine, but ultimately only your own opinion matters. You wont be able to compare the quality of the converters until you have all the gear side-by-side in front of you.

So if i'm using the sequence in the renaissance with external midi gear, when it comes time to record the external synths etc, what do yall think the best way to record that audio into pro tools real time and can the renaissance's audio inputs be used to record audio into pro tools?

A.) Use Pro Tools as the master sync and Renaissance as the slave and record the synths via the Renaissance Audio Ins?

B.) Use the Renaissance's clock as the master and Pro Tools as the slave synced to it and record the synth audio into Pro Tools via the Ren's audio ins?

Just curious as to the most simple way to get my outboard synths recorded into a session with no sync issues etc...

I would say you have the right idea with A, but I havent got my Ren yet so I can't provide details
