Coming from a Mpc 2500 side of things with" JJ os xl", to "N.I.Maschine", now the Mpc Ren. My first thoughts were, the sample edit section for chopping samples. In my My opinion is primitive compared to the two mentioned above. However, after chopping up some samples, laying a few sequences down. I felt right at home. I didn't need the scrolling cursor of jjos xl and soon to be added to Maschine that I grew so fond of. Although with future updates and paying attention the end user this could be a useful and successful tool. Hopefully they already have a update to address bugs and feature request quicker then they did with the release of the "5000" :smoker: :smoker:

It was made note on not one shot due to the implementation of Link Slices off.
If you where using link slices off and chopping a long sample having it play out the entire sample each time would have been annoying.

Jah where you at 8)

I am 100% behind trigger samples as one shot, mono or poly in Sample Edit and Chop Modes. I would like the option of changing these settings.

If you go back to the MPC 3000, you get this option as samples in Sample Edit Mode uses the Program/Pad settings.

There are so many things I would like to see added to Sample Record and Sample edit...I lost track.

I say keep it the way it is, and the way it has always been, it makes complete sense that when I am chopping I want to hear the start and end points of the chops I'm editing. I think 'One shot' mode is important when chopping because you want to hear exactly where your chops start and finish. If you were chopping with 'note on' then you could potentially capture sound from the next chop at the end of the current chop without even knowing it just because you accidentally didn't hold the pad down long enough. It would suck to chop up your whole sample into many slices, make a program, and then begin sequencing just to find out you didn't put an end point in the right place. It wouldn't hurt at all to add an option where you can switch between note on and one shot but I don't see this being a priority.

On the 4k we have the choice to set up one shot or note on I used both depending if it's drums (one shots) or phrases/notes then ( note off). Anyway it would be great the have the choice.
