Today I've been going through software synths that I use frequently and mapping the Q-links by way of enabling automation on the parameters I used the most. If you have go-to software instruments, I highly suggest setting up these templates, then saving the .xpm. It makes for quick and easy sound adjustments on vst/au instruments that aren't already auto-mapped to the q-links, and of course opens the door to easy automation.

what about mapping the q-links to effect plugins (like for example a waves eq)? is this possible in the ren software?

Yes this works with any vst/au/vsti

niiiceee :P

but i wonder, do you find this complicated/long taking? can you save these mappings somehow?

You can definitely save the mappings for the instruments by saving the instrument .xpm file...and recalling that file whenever you like.

I honestly don't know if this is possible with inserts though. I'm actually trying that out right now. If it isn't, it ok, because the Inserts automap themselves to the qlinks when you pull them up. Its the customized qlink mapping that I'm not sure if you can save. I'll see though. If anyone already knows, feel free to chime in.

If it's not possible, that'd be a great feature request, because sometimes I'm not a fan of how it automaps. My guess is in order to "template" the qlink maps of inserts, you'd have to create a template for a whole session, including those inserts and mappings.

With the qlink triggers, can u trigger multiple stuff att the same time? does it work with all the same parameters as the regular qlink mode?

can it do buttons?

Have you tried this with the 96 Qlinks available in Program Edit Mode?

definitely. I'd prefer them here though. I don't need more than 16 parameters mapped at any given time, so to have them right there on the Main screen, is good for me.

You can trigger multiple things.
I can't speak for every instrument, but it works for buttons in Trilian. If you look, my q-link 13 is set for my Arp On/Off button.

the "Q-Link Trigger" button doesn't operate the same way in prog edit as it does when items are mapped to the qlinks on your main screen.

Without a doubt.....options.

What I would really love to see...is a way to rename Qlink param names. This would come in handy especially for Qlinks assigned for MIDI tracks. I would rather see 'Volume' instead of 'CC7'.

Defffinitely. I was just thinking the same earlier.

Hi guys .. was the ability to rename CC values on the QLINKS ever implemented? It would be super useful.
