Annoying sampling problem that won't go away

Okay, if any of you have encountered this issue, is there any fix for it?

The problem is that whenever I run line-in (RCA) with the MPC to sample something, occasionally, the noise will start splitting as if the bitrate is too high or something. Like it starts making a static-type noise, and whenever you record your sample, that noise gets in the sample, so I can't make a beat with that. I'm running Mac OSX 10.8.2 on a MBP with 4G of ram.

Have you tried to adjust the ASIO latency? Does this have any impact on your noise issue?

What are u sampling from? Vinyl?

Just a hunch, but have you tried another USB cable with the Renaissance or another USB port?

That's what happens when you rush to release an unfinished product that you have no experience in building, in a desperate attempt to catch up to Maschine. You would think that Akai would have at least got the most basic of features such as sampling right...

Static noise appears when your system in on heavy load sometimes and this is an issure with the ASIO drivers. Adjust your ASIO from Normal to above normal back to normal to the other preference until it disappears. This usually does the trick for me. Did it last night through a heavily loaded VST session. The noise is ridiculous. I hope this has been stabilized in 1.3.

Akai has at least as much experience building hardware as you do promoting Maschine and believe me its a **** load!

I thaugt it was a relevant question cause the same thing happened to me, only when sampling vinyl.

Same here, just thought sampling vinyl would spike the CPU since there are no audio tracks in the Ren. I don't know

You will see cpu spike because the audio has to be converted to digital on the fly.

Well, I'm sampling from my Marantz PMD 201, but I don't really think that it matters where the audio is actually coming from. I've hooked my turntable up to the Ren and it did the same exact thing.

ohh jeez! of course jah felt compelled to start a maschine debate with the empty dingle.

sounds like you audio coming into the ren is peeking. i sample daily mic performances, and vinyl. never have this issue. with ren or studio. i dont meen to imply you dont know how to adjust your input gain, im sure your aware of this but id start there.
