I'm trying to map some basic parameters such as Volume,Pitch etc. to the q-links on the ren using mach five 3, but when I pull up the q-link editor page, or program edit, there's just a bunch of question marks???? icons showing up.

Not sure if anyone else is using mach five 3 here, but if you have any suggestions, it sure would be appreciated.

Thanks

I've found this in another thread "There is no host automation in M5.
You need to use MIDI CC

right click on the cutoff knob, MIDI Learn, move the MIDI knob
and you're all set."

The problem is , when I do this, and turn a q-link knob, nothing happens.

Any idea's?

I'm sure you are no longer worried about this but:

If the Q-link slider is not transmitting a Midi CC value Mach 5 will not pick it up.

Now for my own curiosity, MPC 4000 guys on the forum, can you make the 4000 Q-Link slider transmit a Midi CC?

I think this is very possible with the REN since that's the perfect use of the Q-Link Knobs.

The Ren's Qlinks appear to map directly to params of plugins it hosts. The plugin has to make its params 'available' so the Ren's Qlinks can automap or be assigned to plugin params.

For most plugins, the Ren automaps params to Qlinks. But for plugins like Battery and Mach Five, it doesn't.

In Battery, assign the params you want to map to the Ren's Qlinks in Battery's Automation menu. Once you do this, these Battery params will show up in the Ren's software so you can map to the Qlinks.

As far as the Mach Five, I haven't been able to accomplish the same thing. I haven't had time to investigate it further. But I will attempt to do so in the coming week.

The Ren's Qlinks for plugin instrument tracks do not send MIDI CC messages from what I can tell. They map directly to the params made available from the plugin instrument.

Qlinks for MIDI tracks do send MIDI CC messages.
