OFFICIAL - MPC Software 1.3 Delayed

Hey all,

Posting from my Phone, so I hope this isn't formatted weird. We're still working on making sure the release is solid, so we will be delayed releasing 1.3 for a few days. Realigning ourselves for Wednesday or Thursday right now. Thanks for your continued patience. The wait will be worth it!

Dan, good you posted this. The majority of dudes that have an urge for 1.3 are lurking the forum so its the right audience to communicate this with.

Everyone else, stop yourself from emotional outbursts just wait a few days won't kill anyone.

Appreciate that Dan went out of his way to drop a message, some companies have some **** up communication polices and this would not even be announced.

Really? Really? If 1.3 was not ready yesterday than Akai should have made a statement on there web site. It's sad to hear and watch these clowns rant and rave about this update at namm and shit ain't ready when they say it would. I could understand if they are adding a new feature to make it even better. If that's the case then say so.

people shouldn't get emotional because they missed the deadline imposed probably by a marketing department (i'd like to think that putting a public release date on software in progress is .... too foolish to have been the choice of any programmer)

that said, there's no good reason these betas are not public.
this software release/beta testing model is completely out of touch.

this is still really sloppy however

if you couldn't deliver the software by the announced date, then don't raise expectations in the first place, especially only to dash them by a casual mobile phone message on the day it's supposed to be out

so now instead of '15th February' being a fixed release date for all this time, we're reduced to 'hopefully Wednesday or Thursday next week'

it's these examples of a lack of professionalness that reveal the deeper malaise

Not having abuse on the forum guys - feel free to comment in a mature, thoughtful way or I'll come in and delete your stuff again, especially from the 1-post wonders.

So it's late, TBH it's not exactly a surprise, stuff like this happens when you pressure people into giving a fixed release date. Clearly you guys are unaware how software development works, you cannot 'plan' a release date, because at any moment, a new bug can rear its head.

As I said previously, it's better they wait a bit longer and get it right than release it in an unstable format just to appease a few vocal members here. Of course, then you'd be hurling abuse because it was unstable.

At least Dan came here and took the time to let you all know, rather than complete silence. And even then, you're taking issue with the way he's delivered the info. Did you expect it sent by FedEx?

OMG calm the **** down people, At least Dan had the courtesy let us know whats going on. Do you program software? Do you know what it takes to release a stable product like this? Would you prefer a buggy product or something that really works well in a few days?

Organize your library, work on your finger drumming some more, learn to play keyboard better. Make some music with the current Renaissance (which is totally possible) and just wait, a bunch of tantrum throwing children around these parts

I bought it a few days before 1.2 had patience thinking there will be an update what fixes this thing and makes it so it actually works and IS fit for use sadly 1.2 did not do this but then we had hope with 1.3 so I held out and delayed finishing my project and kept my Ren in good faith that akai would come correct


you telling me they did not know it wouldnt be ready for teh 15th days ago? why no announcement before the actual day knowing there would be a pile up of users waiting on the update

the customer service is atrocious its not no little money we have spent on this equipment to get jurked around like this
