Standalone or Plug-in ROLL CALL!

I see alot of people mention they use the Renaisance in plug-in mode.Me personally i use it standalone with just The MPC software and trackout from the audio outs.

Id like to see how everyone else is using there Ren.

also,Ive never used the MPC Plugin.What are the advantages to this and how could it help me out??? Will everything just be software based and i wont be able to use the outs/vintage mode? Someone please explain.

I do both.
If I need audio tracks, plugin mode it is. If not, standalone.

Both! Standalone to create. Plugin mode to track! But if transport mode works good like advertised in 1.3, I may use plugin mode more often!

I think it depends on what your purpose is, if your a beatmaker who doesn't mind certain limitations then standalone, but if your daw is close enough to the workflow in standalone, for instance and your an artist who immediately wants to start tracking, then the daw is the answer.Also if your used to the daw,it's a no brainer.

I'm a daw user,and standalone is far too limited for my train of thought,the lack of x64,true editing,I'm not so much with standalone, though props out to folks who can use standalone and create, I'm not into the patterns vs seeing what I'm doing with a nice piano roll editor, I prefer a linear workflow.

Up to you, use both until you find your home.

Me personally, I wanted to use it standalone (and still do) but the current limitations of the MPC software are kinda forcing my hand to use it inside a host.

I hope one day to go back and use the MPC standalone... Use it as it was always intended.. to be the hub (heart) of a set-up.

Yeh I hope they fix the transport when used with the MPC plug. That sh*t is one of the biggest drawbacks I've noticed. It only half works

I contacted Akai about it and they seem to think it works as intended once you assign them to the host. However, I want it to work IDENTICAL to how it does in stand alone. We can always use the QWERTY for the DAW transport....

I use both and I let the requirements for the song dictate which way I go. If I want to sketch something out quickly I'll use the standalone mode but if I want to track out everything and use automation and side-chaining I'll just start in plugin mode. Btw, the transport controls work fine in Reaper.

Does transport control work in studio one??

I mainly use stand alone but worked pretty well as a plugin too in Pro Tools.

yes and easy to map works very well theres a youtube video showing you how

So can i track out the Ren using the actual ren outs in plug-in mode or everything stays in the software????

you can render the plugin to audio if you want to track out
