Alright guys.
There is a
confirmed bug in the installation files for the Mac that came with the original DVD's
After working with Akai/Alesis customer support for an hour on the phone this is the procedure they had me do in order to get it unlocked. I have pasted the email from customer support on the procedure.
After completing the procedure you have to delete everything that is in the unlock screens and retype it all back in again and boom it unlocked. (Tried unlocking without retyping and it didn't work)
The new disks that are coming out should address this issue according to support. It only pops up on some systems. Just depends on your configuration.
Hi Smoothbassman,
Thank you for contacting Technical Support. I'd be happy to help!
Sometimes the software will not unlock due to some strange circumstances in the Mac OS. I would suggest completely removing the software from the computer first, then run through the steps below.
Repair Disc Permissions:
1. From the Finder, travel to GO > Utility
2. Open Disk Utility
3. Select Macintosh HD on the left side
4. Click Repair Disk Permissions button on the right
5. Shut down your computer
Resetting PRAM/NVRAM:
1. Hold down the Option, Command, P and R keys on the keyboard while turning on the computer
2. After you hear the startup tone for the second time, release the keys
3. Let your computer boot up normally
Once you have completed this, go ahead and re-install the software and attempt to unlock it. Is it allowing you to do so now?
Best Regards,
Adam Gay
