Hi there,

Just trying to get more value out of the ren. Can it be used purely as a midi controller in ableton. I.e use the hardware outside of the plugin and use it to trigger different loops and effects in ableton?

Can I use the hardware as I would any other midi controller? Assign different pads and knobs to my custom parameters?

If so what's the best way to do this plz.

Thanks

The Ren is no universal midicontroller like an MPD32......If you would like this future post your request on Akais website.....The Ren was built to have the best integration with MPC Software......it was not....for universal midicontroller

I would like to see that Akai develope an controller editor for the REN where you can create your own midi templates for different requirements

I agree, this should have been taken into account at launch imo, I mean they are competing against a lower priced Maschine which offers this as a standard with NI's controller editor, this should be a simple task, once true MIDI is implemented in the REN.
