So I've been experimenting with using the Ren to actually mix a beat instead of exporting to Pro Tools. The reason for me doing this is because of the restricted use of the Vintage Mode. Obviously, it only affects the main outputs, and has no affect on individual outs no stem exportation. And I don't feel like doing a bunch of resampling or solo exporting, so I decided to give the Ren's mixer more of a chance. It's not ideal for me but since I kinda feel forced to use it, here are a few suggestions I have that will make life a little easier. I'm sure some of these have probably been mentioned before but I'll mention them anyway.
1. Have the pad bank stay on the current pad bank when I go into the PROG MIX screen. Currently, if I'm in the main screen playing a pad on BANK C, the Ren switches to BANK A (or whatever bank you were last on in the PROG MIX screen) when I go into program mix. Have the Pad Bank setting global. 9 x out of 10, if I'm working out of a current bank and I switch modes, I still want to be working on that same bank in that different mode, not the last bank I was on the last time I was in that mode.
2. Have the plugin GUI display what track that plugin is on. This way if I use the same plugin on two different tracks, I can be sure I'm editing the correct one when I pull up the GUI.
3. Have plugins duplicatable and plugin settings copyable.
4. In song mode, when I press insert, have the cursor automatically move to the newly created step.
5. Now that we are able to only view used tracks, have this also reflect on the hardware screen. Don't put all the track data adjacent to each other. Just simply have the numerical data for unused tracks completely blank.
6. Let us automate Master volume to do track fade outs. Or give us automatic fade out options in the export menu that allows us to set an end fade by amount of bars or amount of seconds. So it will allow me to fade the last 4 bars or the last 12 seconds of a beat for example. And have it so we can change these amounts to whatever we want!
7. A Bypass function for individual plugins since not all plugins have one built in!
8. Ability to rearrange plugin order on a track, pad, or master!
9. Better plugin grouping instead of an alphabetized list. Group them by type and/or manufacturer!
10. Allow us to open multiple plugin windows!
