This is Part II to viewtopic.php?f=36&t=161753&start=180 regarding the direction of the Ren/Studio software development.

Which aspects of the Ren should have the highest priority during further development?

audio tracks are an absolute must for me ... just a few (at least) for loops and certain sound design aspects that are exclusive to audio...

followed by improved sample (audio) editing and such,

and FX automation--can't believe then ren doesnt do this (didnt know until reading this poll)--its a MUST for any modern professional hip hop,pop or dance music--fx at this point are like playable instruments that need to be sequenced--period...

since no one else is here to comment yet--can i ask you jah WHY ISNT THE REN ON DISPLAY ANYWHERE?!?!?
the two stores that had it on display here in manhattan (one had it in demo mode so you couldnt hear the outputs and one just had it plugged in but with no mpc software on the computer) BOTH PROMPTLY REMOVED IT shortly after its release

WHAT IS GOING ON?!? gcenter in manhattan has TWO full maschine setups in the store and no ren anything.... im ready to buy (even though i NEED audio tracks) but i just cant buy knowing that it is purposely not on display anywhere-- especially with it being 'software' and thus un-returnable at american musical...

this of course is compounded by the fact that i can't really demo the software (that white noise is simply unforgivable) this "purposefully not having it on display" makes me feel like im being hustled if i buy it--but i might feel better if i at least had an explanation as to why its being unilaterally restricted from store display...

--i posted this here because theres no one here yet and i thought you might be able to explain.. but i could start a thread if you prefer

You will have to ask your local retailers that question. I live in Japan. All my local dealers i do business with have the Ren on display. The sad part is that they are all running OS 1.0.

OTHER:

1. AUTO-SAVE IN THE BACKGROUND: in the event of a crash, I know this is covered under the load and save category, I just wanted to be specific. A prompt should pop up after a crash that gives the user the options of loading the last unsaved by user project, a new project or loading a saved project. (see ..Ableton live).

2. REAL-TIME, TIME STRETCHING AND PITCH SHIFTING

Considering they are mostly basic expected features, yeah. But we don't "champion" these units so what do we know...?

I'm not sure, but enough to where I'm making more beats, faster, and having more fun than before 1.3

I hope the same thing happens with 1.4. If I get 4-5 of those, it'll be good.
