General Questions about Renaissance

Can the renaissance record directly into it? Like with the NI Mashine (as shown in the video) they record a baseline into the maschine rather then into protools. Can the Renaissance do the same?

you can sample into the Ren but i don't know if you can plug a bass directly into the inputs?

i couldn't tell from the video whether maschine lets you start sampling in sync with the sequencer? but you currently cant do it with the ren.
