cool
this isn't a rebuttal or argument - i just wanted to clear up a couple things (if akai reading)
fact remains - you cannot use the ren as advertised on the box ("pretend like computer isnt even there") and i just commented on this thread because its a prime example of a SIMPLE feature that prevents Akai from reaching its advertised goal.
so even though there are 100+ no brainer "FEATURE" requests.. this isnt just a feature thing, this is something that effects workflow regarding a feature thats already in the Ren.
thats all i meant by the fact that you cant use "like" a standalone mpc.. i do agreed with you of course.. it DOES have wayyy more features and is the most powerful MPC... im not forced to use the ren.. i CHOOSE to use ren, because of all these things.. so its not that im just being needy and wanting every single known music making software tool available to the ren.. BUT - there are no MPCs that have a function related to music making that you cant access from the hardware
this edit zones thing is the ONE time in many sessions where i have to over and over and over go to the mouse to switch from current to all or whatever.. like ill make a whole beat without the computer but i have to keep lookin over , grabbin the mouse and clickin all while goin back and forth through programs or tracks.. like ive said in other threads its not THAT big of a deal... but it does "matter" more than "new" feature requests... (to me, of course)
its a function that they made available to the ren, and its something regularly accessed during the music making process (especially with sample based music).. we should have seen this already.... the window key does NOTHING when in PGM EDIT .. sooo ..... edit zones???
