QLinks

Hello,
since I am mostly into electronic music which builts alot of filter modulation,
I am very curious how responsive the qlinks are.

Anyone please just like to create a audio example while tweaking the MPC Filters and some VSTPlugins Filter , slow and fast, so that I can hear how smooth you can modulate the filter using the qlinks.

Q links is half arsed. It requires numerous coding changes to make it a viable go to tool. That will never happen with this software.

Im not recording anything for you.
But I can tell you - Zipper noise - for example on a filter its very noticeable. Generally parameter changes with this software are not smooth if your going to try and automate fast changes. Chances this will be addressed in future updates are very slim.

I also write electronic music with the Renaissance.

I can tell you that if you use the filters on the Renaissance sampler to do live tweaking you will hear very obvious stepping and if you do fast big sweeps you even get horrible popping sounds. I made a video showing this but I can't access Youtube at work to give you a link to it.

This is not a problem with the Qlinks but a problem in the MPC software sampler, they have not implemented any kind of controller smoothing.

If you sweep their filter "plugins" you don't get this stepping but then you can't automate them yet.

Using VST instruments you can sweep "and" automate filters (for e.g.) without stepping from the Qlinks, since they have taken into consideration controller smoothing within the VST instrument.

I've given up on using the internal sampler until they fix this because IMO it's broken and unusable. The problem is that the filters actually sound good but you can't sweep them :/

So there you are, they only thing you can automate without audible problems are VST instruments currently. Once they add FX plugin automation this will solve all kinds of problems for us electronic guys.

If I buy a MPC-R I will use it mainly as "Sampler" to resample and Sample anything , even VSTs.

This Filter Type is even broken when tweaking it with the Mouse.

How about a regular LPF ?

It's been a while since I've even thought about messing with those but I'll give it a go and get back to you.

When Tweaking the regular Filters (except the Model Filter) with the Mouse, they are perfectly smooth

If I remember correctly it did it with the others from the Qlinks as well but once again it's been a while and I guess I need to give it another go.
