Track muting problems! help

I've had the ren for a couple months now, and i still cant figure out how to mute a track in the middle of a sample playing, its like when i mute, it plays the sample through.

I had the maschine before and i had no problem there, it just muted when i "told" it to.

Lets say: I got a 2 bar loop, and are only using 1 sample that are 2 bars long - starting on the 1.
Now if i want a break, on the 2. Do i have to cut it up? or can i somehow do something else?

Did you read the manual? Try track mute mode. Go into this mode -> Hit overdub -> Hit the pad with the track you want to mute at the time you want to mute it.

Edit: Yeah okay, i probably know what your problem is: Go to preferences -> sequencer -> check "instant track mute"
