Yeah it's happening to me also when I add my audio skit soundbites into the sequence for a intro to the beat. It plays fine in the sequence mode and while listening during playback in Song mode. Once I Export the audio the sample fades out when listening to the bounced version of the song or beat from MPC Ren.

I know the length of the sample fits well within the 4bar sequence. My program settings for the pad the soundbite sample is on is set one-shot. The Pad isn't assigned to a mute group. So this must be something within the exporting process of the Ren when it bounces the audio.

In my case, when I hit a pad with a one-shot sound and I move to another Sequence before the sound stops playing, the sound fades out for some reason.

For live playing it can be problematic, but I'll deal with it.

What I don't understand, is that not all Pads act the same way with the same sound! Example: I put the same sound on another pad, and when I move to another Sequence, the sound continues playing like it should without the fade out!

I don't understand!

Thanks!

Sounds like you have a decay set for one or more pads in Program Edit.

I had this happen recently when exporting an entire track. I was just doing a test export so I didn't extend the sequence to include the tails and FX after the track was done. For some reason it just fades out at the end of the track. When I extend the sequence past the end I don't get this problem. I really hope they didn't think it was a good idea to add an automatic fade out for us :Sigh:

It fades really quickly but the whole thing fades out none the less. :hmmm:

Try extending the sequence by a bar or two and see if it still happens.

I'm not actually... No effects whatsoever.

In this video:
, I put the same sample on C11 and C12.

0:00 - 0:16 I play both Pads in Prog Edit Mode to show you that both Pads have the same settings.

0:18 I switch to Main Mode and play C11 and then I switch to the next Sequence. As you can hear, the sample fades out.

0:26 I play C12 and then I switch to the next Sequence. As you can hear, the sample doesn't fade out.

What's the problem?

If this could be understood and resolved very very soon, I'd be MORE than happy :-D

Thanks.

EDIT Problem solved: when the sound is routed to Track Mixer, it will fade. When routed to a Submix, it will not.

I have the same issue when I'm exporting a track in song mode. The first few bars will fade out and then it'll come back in. It's been happen a lot more lately. It'll take like 3 or more exports to get it to export correctly. I don't use an FX or anything so not sure why it does that.

I'll look into this when I get home. Can you email me the project your are experiencing this on?

This happens on all projects. It's the way the software is designed...

Try it: put a long sample on two different pads.

On Pad 1, route it to Track Mixer.

On Pad 2, route it to a Submix.

Now:

Hit Pad 1 and go to Sequence 2 right away. The sound will fade.

Hit Pad 2 and go to Sequence 2 right away. The sound will not fade.

Please Inbox me your email... I prepared you an example.

I just sent it to you. Looks like the weather will not be great out here in Japan today. So I will stay in and put some hours in using the Ren.

I confirmed this issue. It is fairly easy to reproduce. I reported this to the developers to take a look at. Thanks, DSTR / deStar.

From the manual:

If you choose As Audio Mixdown, a separate window
opens which offers you the following options:
• You can define the length of your audio file by
choosing measure Start and End point. This way
you can also bounce a certain number of
measures only. In addition you can define a the
length of a "bounce tail" (Tail) in seconds. This is
useful when working with audio effects like reverb
or delay which will sound longer than the defined
export range.

Set 'tail' to 0 if you don't want a fade at the end.
