EQ?

I can't figure it out. Can I do a "normal" EQ on sounds or tracks in the MPC software? I want to control highs, mids, and lows like on a mixer. I've searched the manuals, online, and I've experimented, but all I can see are filter and effects options, but no EQ controls.

And as far as effects, does anyone else think the effects are a little strong, even at level 0? I would like to be able to have more control than just making strong effects stronger. Zero should mean zero, and you should go up from there. Zero should not mean "lots of reverb because I chose the reverb effect". I want more control.

Did you try using the plugin inserts to insert EQ plugins?

No. I actually have no clue what that even means or how to do that. I need to add a plug-in so I can EQ? If so, what would you recommend and what is a link to teach me how? I'd prefer to just use the mpc software only if possible.

ive been trying to use an eq for a while on mpc.

i found a video of yours on mpc tutor site but i need to be a member and it says i cant register no moe.

also how do i load up the eq?
i got rea plugs but it doesnt show on the plugin section in main mode. do i have to load up a song/snipet of what i want to eq to get samples from?

put an EQ plugin or vst into the track insert on whatever track whatever you want to EQ is on..

but you might not have any vst's or plugins loaded inside the mpc software
you gotta first add plugin's and vst's you download off the web etc into the mpc software via MPC tab at the top of the page, preferences, plugins ...

Go to this KVR search.

Set plugin type to Effects. Further down choose EQ. Further down on list choose pricing = Free.

Hit search. You'll get 95 free EQ hits on the search.

You'd be surprised how good a lot of freeware is. In most cases it's good coders who may want to gain some looks for a paid VST they offer. Other times it's guys looking to prove themselves and get a gig with a big firm. KVR is filled with solid free plugins.

A lot of the listings wil have user reviews too. Off top the Togu Audio TAL plugins are all great. He's got some good delays and synths too.

Use the Akai internal effects to begin with, they are included with MPC Software. If you can't get the Akai internal effects to work, you are not going to get anything else to work anyway.

You can insert effects onto individual pads, tracks in the mixers, send/return effects in the mixers, master FX, etc.

Look in those areas for Inserts sections, rectangular dropdown boxes with downward arrowheads, etc., click on the box, click the + sign next to 'Internal Effects', choose one of the PEQ choices (Parametric EQ), use it.


This video shows you how to insert a plugin as a send/return effect from a mixer track, this is an older version of MPC Software, so looks a little different to the latest versions...

That's not the mpc-tutor site, that's a different site, I cover using plugins including eq in my book
