Vintage Mode Marketing Discussion continues....

i dont want open another flame but this shows which kind of corporation is akai...guys they just fool us for the thousand time.

at the beginning they told us the emulation was hw and not software, and of course is not!

Now we discover they crippled the software without no reason, even the sp1200ring plug in emulation is just a copy of other stock plug-in.

Probably if put a stock eq and comp on the master with certain settings here we have the mpc 60 emulation...

I mean they just orchestrated this to make us pay 1K for a well built midi controller within inside a cheap m-audio sound card (with really shitty preamp).

Now put on top 300$ for the price of the software...

I think at this point the Studio is a much better deal, maybe you can copy the folder and use the emulations as plug-ins as well.

NAMM 2012, Dan showed off the MPC Ren prototype and explained what the "MPC Sound/Vintage Mode". I won't paraphrase what he said, but you can watch it for yourself:

He clearly stated what they did with the hardware and also clearly said the emulations were software.

Nobody is trying to scam you. In fact, there was talk during the prototype stages (perhaps in the Saint Joe/Flux video) possibility of having different Vintage Mode sounds per pad.

I clearly remeber interviews around 1 year ago were thay said the emulation was just hrdware, after they stated that was both hardware and software.

Now we discover is just software

The REN ad/da is insigificant for the emulation, is like using any other soundcard in the market.

Jah meant to say for akai to own up to false info

Dan is the product manager of the Ren. He clearly explains what the Ren does. What is written on the box does not contradict anything he said in the video I posted which is among the first interviews he did at Namm 2012.

Please post the video where Dan said the emulation was just hardware. He never said that. It was never presented that way during alpha/beta testing. Now if a product specialist made an error (and I have spotted several errors in the videos as I know the software as well as anyone) that wasn't done to mislead anyone.

Again...in case you missed it because you are overwhelmed with emotions.....Dan sets the record straight when he demo'd the prototype 8 months before the Ren was available in stores. And he even addressed it at Namm 2013.

Akai were rumbled even before the release. They didnt admit it was software based until the pressure from the public. There is also a thread here from many months ago from a German dude who proved it was entirely plug in based.

No one here is hating or saying we dont like the REN (which i have)

I have already said thanks for the trick and im suddenly start resaving all my beats with vintage mode on all tracks.

But this dont change the behaviour of Akai which everyone can clearly see.

Also i earned hard my money for buying the REN, my mother or my father didnt buy me the REN or other music equipment kid.

It is interesting that from one side you have people that just bash Akai without having actually the equipment while from the other side there just a bunch of kids that recived their new toy from momma and they defend it even if is just a pile of crap.

Just give it a rest guys this part of the forum is getting annoying.
