Bug reports & end-user support for Akai's MPC Software 'controllers' including the new MPC Studio 2, the MPC Touch, MPC Renaissance & original MPC Studio and MPC StudioB lack.

My setup currently consists of the the flagship Akai MPC Renaissance as well as the flagship outboard sound module the new Roland Integra 7. As of now I'm running my equipment on a 21" IMac Thunderbolt. I get latency issues during playback when using my Integra 7. I changed the sample rate, just curious as to know will the Thunderbolt expansion on my Apollo Quad interface fix these issues?

I have been reading up on the roland Clan site about the integra 7. What you are saying is making me wary. I see them writing about midi issues over there as well. It is making me have second thoughts.

I hope the integra7 is not a drama machine because it looks so promising with all that spec.

I will be following this thread closely.

Cheers,
Ian

I can honestly admit that investing in the Integra 7 will leave you with no regrets. I love the fact that it has practically any sound you could ask for. Another plus about the Integra 7 is it doesn't operate on CPU meaning you don't have to worry about hard drive space. I can't wait for Roland to release the Mac Editor for it so I can incorporate the Integra 7 as a plugin in standalone MPC software.

The Integra is on my list of sound modules I want to buy over the next year. On the surface, it appears you shouldn't have any latency. How do you have your Ren, Computer, Audio interface, and the Integra connected?

Any information about that Mac Editor? I want to look more into hardware products that can be used exactly like software plugins to include routing of audio. Does the Integra have this capability?

Are you using the MPC Software in standalone mode, or as a plugin inside a DAW?

When you say latency issues, is the latency between sounds being created inside the MPC Software and sounds being created inside the Integra 7, just when being played back, or is it after the Intergra 7 sounds have been recorded into a DAW and are then being played back?

How are you routing and monitoring the Integra 7 audio, is it being sent out the analogue outputs on the Intergra 7, and are they plugged into a mixer or into your Renaissance?

Or, are you sending the audio out of the Interga 7 and into your Mac via the USB connection, then monitoring it through audio outputs on your DAW or somewhere?

I have the MPC software as my main interface and the MPC Ren & Integra 7 ran through that. The Integra 7 is connected to my CPU via USB. I sequence the Integra 7 sounds in the MPC software and what a relief will it be when Roland finally releases the Integra 7 Mac Editor. But I go to preferences in the MPC software and then Ingo to the Audio page and choose the UA Apollo for the output and the Integra 7 as the Input being its an audio interface in itself. I have the sample rate in the MPC software set to 96hz and the audio buffer size set at 1088 samples, latency adjust is set to 2219. Latency issues occur during playback as well as when playing the sounds sometimes long enough to hear latency. Help needed ASAP!!

The Integra 7 can currently be used as a plugin currently on PC only as the Mac Editor is still being finalized hopefully. I actually have Native Instruments Komplete 8 but I just wanted to expand on sound especially outboard gear to prevent causing too much CPU overload. I'm thrilled with the sounds as they are brilliant and Roland will only continue to expand on classic sounds. It's definitely a worthy investment!

You have a lot going on. I would simply this set up.

1. Select MPC Ren as the Input and Output of the MPC software

2. Connect the audio outputs of the Ren and Integra to the audio inputs of the Apollo

3. Connect audio outputs of the Apollo to your studio monitors (speakers)

4. Connect MIDI Out 1/A to the MIDI Input of the Integra. (You can also decide to connect the Integra to the Ren or Computer via USB; sending MIDI over USB)

This will allow you to sample using the Ren's inputs. Set the buffer settings of the Ren and Apollo to under 512 ms samples. Set the sample rate to 44.1 or 48 kHz. For simplicity, set the Ren and Apollo to the same settings.

or

1. Select Apollo as the Input and Output of the MPC software

This is even simpler and will probably give you the best performance. You won't be able to sample using the Ren's inputs. You would be sampling sources routed through the Apollo to include the Integra. Set the buffer settings to 512 samples or less and the sample rate to 44.1 or 48 kHz

This should give you a baseline to solve your latency issues.
