we have many ideas in this forum but what would be your absolute MUST HAVE features if we were told the next o.s. update would be the last (not that it is I'm just asking ) just curious

mine would be

1.realtime time stretching and pitch shifting
2.realtime swing and midi transpose(transpose should be on the main seq as it is on pervious mpcs)
3.a redesigned lcd layout(its kind of confusing as it is now)
classic mpc workflow and improved lcd graphics with the addition of the new features
4.more knob and cursor control
5.the ability to scrub thru a sample (audio can be heard)as i edit it.maybe this is where the knob can be employed(jjos had this)
or
use the new qlink scroll to glide thru the sample.
maybe a f key could be pushed to initiate the scrub feature.as you scrub thru the wav a chop could be added by pressing the desired pad.ie 1st chop ,press pad 1,scrub thru to next edit point for 2nd chop then press pad 2 and so on.

6.bit depth in the sample record screen i.e. 8,12,16,24 with adjustable sample rates
7.audio tracks just for shits and giggles
8.pad copy that works more like maschines pad copy
9.a function that would allow midi plugins to work inside the Ren i.e. programs like Effectrix ,the Finger ,or chord space player
or/and the ability to assign chords to pads ie a chord maker plugin
10.the ability to layer/assign two midi channels per track like most other mpc before the Ren (would be dope if we could use that to quickly layer vsts some how also.)
11.rearrange track order (makes for simple organization of tracks before export)i.e. putting all ur drums together etc etc.
12.track explode feature...if I record a kick snare and hi hat to the same track I want the ability to export them separately .
13. Alternating sample loop (Forward <-->Reverse)
14. One-shot, Mono Playback options in Sample Edit Trim/Chop
15.. Add slices with a single mouse-click
16. More Sequence Edit options from hardware and software
17. Convert Sliced Samples to Keygroup Programs
18. arpeggiator 19. step edit
20.side chaining
21. Mixer improvements
22. multi monitor support
23.multicore support
24.step edit
25. stable
more to come as i think of them.peace

My Top 10 (for today anyway....)

1. Alternating sample loop (Forward <-->Reverse)
2. One-shot, Mono Playback options in Sample Edit Trim/Chop
3. Using data dial to adjust 1s, 10s, 100s, 1000s, etc for Sample Start/End
4. Add slices with a single mouse-click
5. Drag-n-drop samples to plugin instruments
6. More Sequence Edit options from hardware and software
7. Convert Sliced Samples to Keygroup Programs
8. Insert Effects in Sample Record Mode
9. Route MIDI to physical MIDI outs when used as a plugin
10. Sample any Input/Output available to computer within Sample Record Mode!

21. Mixer improvements

I would of course like to see the full list but if I had to choose it would be those ones.

21 is my main one - mixer decoupled from sequences. Combine with time linked rather than beat/bar linked next seq would turn the Ren in to a super charged, hands on performance, real time arranger/jam instrument. Although my hunch is the MPC Ren will never be blessed with a universal mixer, and I doubt time linked sequences will be implemented. I will wait until the 1.5 update and if there's no improvement its bye bye Ren. Living in Limbo land waiting/hoping for features which may or may not appear messes with musical Karma. I put up with that in the early days of Daws/software - wont be doing that again. 8)

My absolute must haves would be things that there aren't work arounds for.

1) FX Plugin Automation
2) Multicore support
3) Group/Buss channels (or inserts on submixes)
4) Route MIDI to FX inserts
5) Route audio to FX insert alternate channels such as sidechain input.
6) VST3 Support

I left out things already planned in the 1.4 update

I like this one too. But the majority of VST3 plugins offer VST2 versions.

Yeah, it's mostly for easier routing of audio between plugins.
