BPM chopping allows you to chop into equal parts by note. So for example, let's say I want to chop my sample into quarter notes, no matter how many slices are needed. Knowing the bpm allows you to set the slicing to 1/4 notes at the click of a button, which gives you the right amount of slices to give you 1/4 note slices. In region mode, you have to physically count exactly how many slices are needed to give you 1/4 note slices and set the required amount of slices manually.
