Peace y'all, I've had my ren for a good 4 months now, but haven't been able to use it because I needed to upgrade my computer. I just got a 15" 2011 MacBook Pro with a 2GHz intel core i7 processor with 8 fb of ram. I just installed the driver with no problem, but when I try to install the software there's an unknown installation error. I got the Ren directly from Akai btw. Thanks and sorry if it's already been brought up. I'm bout to head to work and don't wanna deal with searching lol

Just download the software from the Akai site: http://www.akaiprompc.com/mpc-renaissance.

Yeah, I tried that and same result. Won't let me install the software. I'm gonna try to disable Gatekeeper when I get home and hope that fixes it. I know the manual said to disable any kind of anti-virus software or something like that. Thanks

Yeah a DL'd .dmg can help if it's a badly mastered disk, but since they added Gatekeeper I had to turn it off when I had at least 10 apps/VST/AU's fail the install. After that it was OK.

I hope it's as simple as that.
