Is it possible to trigger Ren from DAW midi tracks?

As in, can you kinda use the Ren as a sampler plug-in? I was thinking of sequencing in Ren, exporting midi tracks, then placing them in Reaper to trigger the same soinds in the rEn but I can't seem to make it work. Is this even possible? pretty sure maschine can do this....

It's not possible the way that I believe that you desire to use it, the Ren will only allow you to control one track at a time when using midi data from your Daw, so you couldn't use this program and another program at the same time. But if you really think about it one program can hold up to 128 different pads of samples so really you could use one program and make a complete song using midi from your Daw but it would be nice if Akai gave us 16 channels for its sampler (if I remember right the MPC 4000 did this).

That makes sense from what I've tried to do so far. Good suggestion though, using just the one channel and up 128 pads. Thanks for the info!

It's funny, each update for the Ren keeps me from selling it for a little longer but it's just still not all the way there...
