Dragging sequences to Logic Pro?

Is there anyway to drag a sequence from the Ren Software plugin to Logic as midi, or do you have to literally export as a midi file and reload it in?

Any help gratefully received.

No, no Midi or Audio drag and drop. So yes, export to midi or audio, then drag in back into your track. Pain in the bum. It's been asked for so many times now and for so long, I have gave up :O))

I've been fighting with this since the Ren was released especially since Logic is my main DAW. Right now that process is the only slow down in my work flow.. I almost sold my REN to get a mpd just so the work flow would be more convenient... But I decided to keep it and the exporting is getting less and less painful. lol

There is a way to record in all of your mpc tracks live into logic all at once,so no exporting at all!! its a breeze once you have a template setup in logic, i posted up how to do it a while back look at my previos posts its there

i want to record directly into logic x.
i open the plug in and i drumming some notes.
i see the notes and when i'm using another plug in like battery, i can use the ren as a midi controller and recording notes works perfect.
but with the mpc plug in i cannot record direct into logic.
tell me how?

Do this method first...




Then create Bus Sends(don't forget to turn the volume of the busses up) on the instrument/MPC tracks and send them to audio tracks.

You can't. For some incalculable, dumb a$$ reason, Akai chose NOT to make the Ren mulitimbral. Meaning you can neither record its MIDI output, nor use it as a MIDI controller for the majority of the popular and "industry standard" professional DAWs on the market. There are many here who have begged for these features, including myself many times but when you you ask why doesn't the Ren integrate MIDI recording or how to get the Ren to integrate MIDI recording, usually what you'll get is a long winded "I don't know".

JAH, Metatron, Hellfire, SimonInAustralia, InspectaEX and a few others genuinely care and try to help as much as they can but Akai's coding/ programming/ development staff is small and there are many, many wants here. I'm by no means making excuses for Akai. The release of a $1,300 MIDI capable, non-multi timbral, computer based, electronic musical instrument that can't be used as a MIDI controller in this day and age is unfathomable and inexcusable. I bought the Ren because to me, the MPC brand not only represents beat making, it defines it. I wanted a computer based MPC to complete my studio workflow and according to Akai's advertisements quoted directly from the back of my Ren box, top right side, under "Software Features" and 7th bullet point down, "Works alone as your main DAW or works seamlessly with your current studio as a VST or AU plugin"

Akai just flat out lied. If there's one thing the integration of the Ren into my current studio is not, it's seamless. However, I will not jump ship, I will not sell my Ren. I have said from day one that I have faith in Akai and that one day, that faith will be rewarded. I still believe this. All I want is multi timbrality and the ability to use the Ren hardware as a MIDI controller for Logic and Pro Tools. I believe that Akai is listening and working diligently to right this wrong and provide us with this functionality.

ukbeatmaker, be patient. Akai will work this out. In the meantime, contact JAH with your feature requests and issues. He is a beta tester for the software and has Akai's ear. He will forward your requests/ issues to them.

Yup... And Multitimbral VST hosting don't work to... seems AKAI don't love multis...

The missing features list must be so, so long... Hope their team is bigger than you imagined.. if not we will wait five years before they finish the soft in his details.
