Are vsts/au plugins supposed to save presets with Ren projec

Sometimes I make a project and come back to it and it seems any parameter changes I make for a vst instrument patch are getting reset. Like I'll make a beat, open Nexus or something, tweak one of the patches to my liking and make a beat. But when I close and re-open the project my Nexus patch has been reset. I lose any filter, reverb, delay modifications I made.

I am confused is because many of my vst instruments will load fine with the last presets when I load a project. It seems only a few vsts arent saving and I'm not sure if this is a bug or not, or whether its just that some vst-i save presets with a project automatically. Should I be saving my patches or presets that I altered in my vst-instruments? I'm a little lost here because many vst-i's I use, they automatically save the patch/preset I was tweaking with when I save the ren project file. Should my patches that I altered be saved with the project? Or does the Ren reset all of my vst instruments after closing a project?

Tried my best to explain, sorry if its a little confusing, but hopefully someone will get what I'm asking.

If you use a plugin inside another DAW and the params you adjusted are saved with the project, then the Ren/Studio software should do the same.
