holy, I was looking at a ren today, I knew there were still problems with the OS but I figured that akai would've corrected with 1.4. Your saying that there are still all these problems with the ren's os :hmmm:

This is a partial (but popular) list of user feature requests that no product on the market (integrated controller/software package) can accomplish to include Maschine, Spark, etc as well as any hardware MPC.

Note - I added a feature to the list by request and didn't know it would reset all the votes cast my fourm members. :WTF:

Even with my limited knowledge of Maschine I can see at least 10 things on that list that it does. :hmmm:

My other requests are...

Ability to re-arrange tracks.
Inserts on submixes
More submixes

I need to clarify my statement.....

There is no hybrid integrated hardware controller/software package on the market that can accomplish EVERYTHING on this list. Apparently this isn't common knowledge...

I think for under $100,000 I could hire a development team and oversea the development of a third party operating system and driver for the Ren that would be better than the Akai OS.

Edit: And get everything in that list done properly

Go for it. I may buy your product. Until then, you will have to use the Ren/Studio as is. And feel free to contribute to the thread by listing what you feel should be priorities or not. I seriously doubt you will see all of these features implemented at the same time if ever...regardless of which drum machine you favor.

Has to be FX automation. I bought the MPC Ren to go live and at the moment, without FX Automation support, it's not possible.

Please implement this asap Akai.

Pretty please.

Controller mode!!!!!!!!!!

There are some things on this list that seem luxuary and some that seem a standard

I think standards should come before luxury items

Controller mode
Fx automation
Arranging tracks

To name a few are standard operations you would do with any daw/controller

If most things on this list can be brought to 1.5 then each update after will be more like a treat than a fix

Why is a controller mode standard? That is a luxury item IMO. We can already use the Ren as a MIDI controller for any connected MIDI module with 96 Qlinks at your finger tips. The Ren is not an MPD. Making it perform like one is just icing.

Audio tracks and nondestructive chopping are my biggest needs.
