so here we are at this mix stage again. im really confused at why all the mix/gain stages. Im also wondering how many of you bounce songs out of your ren. There are plenty of people using this thing professionally on the forum but i cant find anyone bring this up.
The Bounce is all f.u.c.k.e.d. up!
seriously i can bounce the same song from song mode 5 times and i will have 5 separate bounces. (separate stems)
example: bounce one = has a skip like double of the whole track. like it started to bounce the song 25% of 1 bar in. it starts over from zero and finishes bounce.
bounce 2 = the 3 second tail is only applied to one track.
Bounce 3 = not only is the 3 second tail only on one track it just stopped bouncing again around 25% of the last bar of any randome track if not all but the ones it actually 3 sec tailed..
bounce 4 = and so on..
(hope you guys get what im trying to explain)
then i made a couple adjustments in my track mixer to get two of the sequences to have same mixer settings. and i find out that the when you change the volume on Plug-in strip inside the track mixer it actually changes across all seq. just like we want all channels of the track mixer to do when adjusting faders.
Then i turned it completely down for a bounce (5), because i noticed the bass was realy high in bounce (4). well the bass was still there in bounce 5 after completely turning it down. so i go to the all mighty manual. and confirm that:
"For the render option, you can choose between Master and Separate tracks. Master will render an output that will be the same as the final output from the MPC software. Separate tracks will render at the Track Mixer. The rendered audio will not include Track Sends but will include the Track insert effects."
now i expect someone to be thinking or saying: hey that plug-in channel strip is actually a program mixer channel strip. not a track mix. it just sits in the track mix for some reason.
well yes it does say "PLUG-IN PROGRAMS" right next to it in grey. and it has a tap to hide or show the plug-in strip...... but when you go into the program mixer the plug-in channel strip is not in there again im scratching my head
SOOOOO... (i know this is long winded, but please bare with me) i did a Bounce 6 after some random adjustments of this prog mixer. Mutes and fader drops.
well i found that the bounce really bounces the damn Program mixer, but it does not respect the muted tracks.
So again, why all these mix/gain stages. we all like options dont get me wrong but nothing is synced properly in the this muiltiple mix thing, we call the mpc mixer or mixerS.
Couple things i want out of this thread:
1 for you producers actually taking finished songs of the Ren. how to you do it? do you bounce?
2. Will one of you betas please bring the mixer issues to dan or who ever you report to. They need to be linked. and the Bounce needs to be fixed. The manual is not even correct on this topic. Getting the finished product out of the machine properly, should be a focal point.
at this point the trackmixer is worthless. please put a visual representation of the audio file on the Program mixer. just like the track mixer has. If the Program mixer is supposed to be the main mixer for the software. please make it superior in all aspects. at this point there is and has been a long standing confusion amongst all users of how and what is happening with this spider web of audio routing. From inserts on every pad, mix, track and program is cool but they all route to different illogical places.
or eliminate the program mixer all together! What daw has a program mixer?
In stand alone they (akai) claim it as a daw...or daw like.
