Overdubbing in SONG mode

Im overdubbing cymbals over my song arrangment from within SONG mode. However, when I go back to my sequences the overdubs are now part of those sequences. I have a 4000 and when doing this on that unit it never effected the original sequences that make up the song.

Am I doing something wrong?

you cant overdub in song mode... as the pads go into arrange mode .. what version of the software do you have installed?

Latest, v1.4. I'm not using the pads when doing this, but instead my Motif ES8 controller. So there is no way to overdub over a song arrangement?

Try converting song mode into a sequence. Then do your overdubbing

Seems like an obvious work around to me. Still new to the Ren and I'm slowly figuring out my workflow. Next step is working it into Logic for tracking live instruments. I'd be quite happy if they added audio tracks in an upcoming release. Would love to write and track completely in the stand alone app, export the tracks, and mix with my Protools rig.

Audio tracks is one of the most requested features. Hopefully it will be in the next update.

Hopefully audio tracks become available very very soon. Supposedly AKAI is releasing something new on 9-13. Maybe an update with Audio tracks will be included?
