Compatibility with MPC 5000/2500

my first post here so hopefully it hasn't been answered before.

I'm currently using a Ren and as much as i love it i'm a little concerned about its reliability on the road and the risk of midi sync drift when using in standalone mode on stage.

Sold my 4000 some time ago but thinking a 5000 may be more reliable.

so my question is ...has anyone tried to load Ren projects(no plugins) into the 5000/2500 and if so did they work?

any help appreciated guys

I had the 5k although I loved that thing it had a lot of midi sync issues .I would get a Mpc studio and a laptop of some sort preferably mac .in my touring the studio/mac combo has proven to be extremely stable. imho of course.peace

cheers. the one thing that concerns me with the ren is syncing drum machines to it .. there seems to be a bit of occasional drift and the last thing i want is them going out of time 45 minutes into the show!

Mileage varies. I recently exported a bunch of keygroup programs from the Ren to my 5000 and there were a several errors in many of the program parameters, pretty sure these were working fine before the latest 1.4 release.

As mentioned above there are some MIDI/timing issues with the 5000. I'd not lug that unstable piece of trash on the road with me TBH; a 2500 or 1000 both running JJOS would be a more stable option IMO.

What was your reason for dumping the 4k was it to go to the Ren or because of problems?

As someone else mentioned why not get a Studio for the mobile work?

i sold it after a long break away from music and decided when i started to make beats again to go for a smaller mac based set up.

after trying maschine the ren just seemed to be the natural way for me to go having used various mpcs since the 90s and other than the crashes and this midi issue i'm pretty happy with it.

as for the studio ....having used the ren to create the music and arrange the rough set i will be playing i had hoped to use that live but the midi sync issue is just too unreliable... makes me sound like a 5yr old tryin to beat match...

i'm using the internal audio interface for ease of use but maybe that could be the problem with the midi clock drift...
