Linux and Ren/Studio Software

I see there are a few fellow linux users within these forums. I was wondering if anyone has yet to try to install the software on linux. I searched but cannot find where anyone tried and shared their findings

I know, I know, it's not 'supported' on linux but my avid linux users know of 'wine' or even 'play on linux' for getting some Win executables to install and run.

According to tracking, my Studio will be here tomorrow. I travel out of town during the week so I won't get back to ATL until Thurs evening but will be testing install on linux. Worst case, I cannot and have to do on my Win System, which I plan to build a new one End of next week.

So if anyone has attemped let me know. I dont consider it a waste of time, as I will know within the length of times it takes to install and launch. I know I can install but launching is where it will either work or fair miserably lol.

the instalation of the program on ubuntu studio 13.10 worked well. but the mpc renaissance wasn't recognized (lsusb say there is an akai corporation usb port but no audio interface)
and when i drag and droped a sample in the program, BUG !

Thanks IDK! That's what I was looking for, another linix user that attempted it and the results.

I also wonder how many have attempted to run the software inside a Virtual Machine, ESXi, VirtualBox, VMWare Player, etc... That would be nice as I could move the whole VM to more powerful hardware as needed without registering the software on 'different' systems...

I will attempt both soon myself
