Bug reports & end-user support for Akai's MPC Software 'controllers' including the new MPC Studio 2, the MPC Touch, MPC Renaissance & original MPC Studio and MPC StudioB lack.

Song mode not in sync when running as a VST in Cubase 5. When I just run one sequence it syncs. I can even change sequences on the fly and it stays in sync but song mode is a bust. Is there a setting I'm missing?

Thanks.

There has been several forum reports regarding issues with Cubase 5 and the MPC Software. But if sync works in one mode, it should work in other modes.

I am using Pro Tools 10 and syncs work properly.

Cam you post a video to show the issue you are having?

Download the fully functional trial version of Cubase7 to see if you have the same issue: http://www.steinberg.net/en/products/cubase/trial.html

Cubase + MPC kind of sucks the way it is now. Crashes, routing so many outs, I typically just make the track in the studio, and bounce everything into it.

He has some work-arounds that may work for you, but your best bet may be to do either above until Akai releases version 1.5. HOPEFULLY they will have made it work with today's standards.

Also try this:
1. Ensure Cubase's sequencer is starting at 1: 1: 000 or 0
2. Enter Song Mode of your MPC
3. Press [Play Start]

Jah it doesn't work like the hardware mpc's or like in protools whereas you can sync it easily. It's always off by 1 bar for some reason in Cubase. Hopefully the development team addressed this issue in 1.5.

TXDelta1010, you have yet to address his issue. His issue is that there is no sync when using the MPC Software in Song Mode and not about Cubase needed a bar to sync.

Since you responded and have Cubase...can you assist him/answer his question?

Exactly. You can't change sequences properly and its always 1 bar behind in cubase in song mode making it work crazy. If you have access to ableton live or a lite version, I recommend using that, here's a video where you can doing something similar (he does seq, but you can use song mode), and song mode works a bit better in ableton by triggering the sequences:

Are you sure it is not user error? My demo of Cubase 7 expired. But prior to that, I only had one issue with Cubase and the MPC Software..which was the MPC1 port is no longer available in Cubase.

Are you on a PC or Mac? Operating System?

What software version of the MPC Software are you using?

I assume Cubase 5 is 32 bit? I reported this issue to Akai to look at. But have you tried Cubase 7 to see if you have the same issue?
