Hey Fam ...

In the meanwhile I desperate with my REN! It plays perfectly fine everything BUT when it comes to record / overdub it fails ...

1. Only after releasing the pad it struggles
2. Using a knob for realtime control it struggles all the time
3. Hitting a key on my master keyboard instead of a pad it struggles also

What I have done to solve the problem:

1. Changed the Audio Buffer size / Latency / Sample Rate in preferences
2. Reinstalled the software and the firmware to the latest countless times
3. Deleted unused samples and tracks
4. Deleted partly every used sample in the project
5. No plug_ins nor internal efx either in use

Strange thing is: When I start a new blank project it works in record / over dub mode perfectly! May the worked on nearly finished projects corrupted? I'll bet when I move on with a new project the same problems occurs after a while also ... Experienced that the whole time Im owning it ... since january this year. Or is the REN itself kind of faulty? First time i've used it on my old macbook from 2007 and it struggles after a time also as the projects moves on. So I thought I need even more CPU power and RAM and bought the latest iMac ...

Tech specs:

OS X 10.8.5
2.7 GHz Intel Core i5
16 GB 16000 MHz DDR3

AMT 8

REN latest software and firmware

Any help is much appreciated. I love this thing a lot and hope someone can gimme a hint! THANKS!!!

Marco.

In my case I haven't got it to stop making those crackles & pops when I'm recording a lot of live q-link automation.

On playback it is fine, spot on even, but when recording those q links on a song it just becomes mayhem for a minute.

I'll keep looking for a solution and will let you know if I come across anything.

Thanks for the answer ... again!

Im wondering if you're using an external midi interface and hardware besides the ren. Im using an AMT8 over USB that's connected with the other hardware and the ren. It could be a USB interference problem I thought about. Both, the ren and the AMT are directly connected NO USB HUB used!

In the USB settings are mentioned two HUB's for the ren. I guess one is for the connection to the mac and the other for the two USB ports on the back of the ren.

It's just a thought it could be a USB problem. I really tried a lot around ... May it the AMT8 but this one never ever let me down in the past ...

Thanks again!
