Is it possible to save the program without the samples (just pointers). It seems a waste that every time I save a song I'm making copies of samples in my library when the software should be able to just point to the locations where the samples reside.

thanks.

no

pros and cons. at least ur able to move, modify, delete, rename, etc... your original sound and any time it gets used, without affecting or even destroying everywhere it was used.

I have a gang of drum hits with names such as kick57... and have no idea how many times I have used that in saved songs. I can rename it tntkick1 without worrying where it was used before rename.

I go thru sounds sometimes and say, "snare88 sounds like sd23. i may as well delete one of them" hmmm, if one or both of those snares are linked to a dozen random songs.... you get the point.

There is a method to the madness. I am just glad to be able to save data to my HD (internal or external) instead of series of floppy disks.
