What is going on with Akai? Really. If you turn quantize off and record, it records the notes to the 960 ppq scale anyway, which it always has done, just to let everyone know who didn't know. But when you use shift timing and swing or whatever features this thing has to move notes, it still moves the notes based on 960 ppq scale, so the notes don't shift far enough. This means you still have to turn the dial ten times as far to get the notes to where you want them, if you are use to working with older MPCs with 96 ppq, which should have been an advantage if the 96 ppq update actually worked, but correct me if I'm wrong. Let me reiterate that you still can't speed up your workflow by selecting individual notes and shift them to where you want them to be because we still don't have step edit, so we can't fully take advantage of the 96 ppq, if the 96 ppq where to actually work, which it doesn't, but correct me if I'm wrong. I can't call this an MPC anyway because it doesn't have common features that every MPC has like step edit. Step edit makes a MPC a MPC Without step edit, you might as well get a NI Maschine. At least there was nothing ever wrong with the software when I used the Maschine. The Maschine software has always worked perfectly. The biggest problem I had with the Maschine was the fact that it didn't have step edit!! So I bought the Renaissance because MPCs have step edit!! I'm not going to talk about other features that have not been fixed yet still since the release of version 1.0, which is ridiculously inexcusable, so I'm going to stop right here. Here's an analogy for what's been going on with the software development of the Renaissance, which I wish I didn't have to criticize. Think of the Renaissance software as a car. So far this car still doesn't have any gages and we are still using a wrench to turn the car, because we don't have a steering wheel. Each software update is like adding defrosters for side mirrors and heated seats. These updates don't help me drive the car. I need a steering wheel and gages added to this car. All the older MPCs didn't have heated seats, but they were fully developed cars that you could drive with no problems. Give us a MPC please.
