mpc renaissance is lovely

just picked up a renaissance last week....i owned a 60,60 mk2 and 4k in the past and i must say this thing sounds right....a bit buggy, but its mostly with AU and VSTs...otherwise its off to the races....sonically it definitely makes up for the lack of thump that logic and ableton produce....so far so good....

one question, may sound retarded, but are there actual programs you can load...aka drumkits?? i see a lot of samples in the banks and such, but i don't see programs???? maybe i overlooked that, but seems silly to not be able to load simple kits...also when i audition 3rd party wav samples i can hear them by right clicking, but not the content banks??? odd....nonetheless this is a serious machine if you have mpc chops to begin with...

The expansion packs that come with it are loaded as plugins.

They also need to be updated, from the versions installed with the supplied discs, to operate in the default 64 bit mode of MPC Software OS 1.4 and 1.5.

The expansion packs are VST plugins, you create plugin tracks in the standalone MPC Software, as well as the plugin version of MPC Software, and load the expansion packs onto those tracks as plugins.

ah ok ....ill just resort to using the mpc as an instrument then....i don't mind loading the sounds individually was just wondering why the simplicity of grouped kits is not an option like a typical program thats all...cheers simon

You have to click the prog button in your mpc to only see the programs or no filter.If I am undertanding you right.

There are lots of included kits, even has kits from the 60, 2000...etc.

When you are looking in the browser at all the samples and such, be sure and tap the "program": button, its a couple to the left of the no filter button. Then you will see actual drumkits. Load and enjoy.

To get to the legacy kits, in software tap the up arrow in the browser and you should see a folder called "legacy". Open it and find the kits, again be sure the program button is selected.

From hardware,..... never mind, i'm to lazy right now to explain it, but you should be able to figure it out.....

I just realized when I gave the location of the program button, I was thinking of the Studio.... I used the Studio for about a year, and just got the Ren so I get mixed up.....

As an old hardware head, this is what I have said.... Man if I had MPC studio/Ren 20 or even 10 yrs ago lol
