need help, i'm new!!

just got my mpc renaissance and i was wondering this....
i loaded my reggeaton sample then i wanna hold dow a pad and play the sample but i wanna be able when i release the pad for the sample to stop immediate after i release.
if that posible cuz i used to have a roland sp 555 and with the GATE ON you can do this to any sample.

Go to program edit. Select the sample/pad. On the computer screen, I think it's the right side, unselect "one shot" and select the one below, I think its note on...... Sorry I'm not at my MPC, just going from memory....

You will see the one shot/note on options to the right in the 'pad play modes' section.
