1. Quicker way to select tracks from hardware, I should be able to jump from tracks 1 to 16 without going through tracks 2-15 (besides using mouse drop down in software)

2. Ability to Select ALL, MULTIPLE, or CURRENT from Pad Edit Selection Section in Prog Edit Mode using the hardware, real tired of having to jump to the mouse for this.

3. Fix Non Destructive Chop. It should reference chop points of original sample without creating multiple slice files. (this might of been addressed, I havent checked)

4. Improved mixer, I would prefer the Track Mixer's effects be applied to all sequences, and carry over to other sequences when copying or creating a new one, or some how make this feature toggle-able on and off.

5. Fix the alphabetical order of samples when scrolling through sample list from hard ware in prof edit, sample layers, etc...

6. Ability to PURGE any and every sample that is not used in a project, whether it's in a used program or not, if that program is used or not, then it should Purge samples not used in that program. Last I checked we could only purge to a certain program level, not sure if they fixed this.

7. Ability to check off what scanned vst/au/plugins we want to show up in effects browser. I have tons of vsts/plug in, they all get scanned in, I would like to check some off and leave others I dont use in the Akai software so they dont even show up in the list. If not, maybe some kind of section where we add favorites, etc..

8. Ability to de-attach the Sequence Window from the Software, or ability to make the Sequence/Midi Event Window Full Screen or larger.

9. Ability to change colors/skins for the software. (kind of like Ableton) this can be a simple feature aditon that I'm sure will help some people's inspiration, sometimes that all grey, yellow red, gets tiring, bring some visual flavor to the software.

10. If I hold shift then note repeat it locks, if I hold note repeat and press shift in that order it should ALSO lock note repeat. Simple things like this, easier button navigation to menus and features.

11. Make the hardware screen look prettier. 16 boxes makes sense but the way it is currently is dull, 16 boxes, abbreviation, numbers. Add some visuals like bars and meters.

*would also be nice if Akai included new sounds and vsts plug ins in every update, we have the wub, 808, nintendo sounds, and the other 1, wheres the rest? Give us some nice drums time to time.

It is not taking "so long". :Sigh:

Updates have been coming out approximately every 3 months so far, 1.5 was released on October 2nd, so the next one on that schedule would be due in early January, and that would not be taking into account any Christmas/New Years holiday.

Pete has hinted that the next update might be out before Christmas, so we might see something in the next few days.

My three MPC Software Christmas wishes are...

- Direct Recording/Place Event in MPC Software application
- 4 external MIDI output ports from MPC Software plugin
- Sequence/Program/Master type options to use for mixer/tempo/etc. settings

That'd be nice, but also a way to skip thru parts of a song, fw,reverse scrub tool, with pitch option would be sweet lol

- A Favorite Effect tab in the VST effects browser could be great

- Ability to choose more folders for plugins ( Actually four ) and why not ability to just open a Vst by browsing like in Blue Cat Audio Patchwork.

- Ability to enable/disable plugins after they got scanned. ( some we won't use but installed with a bundle )

- Mixer and track Mixer presets.

- Master Vu-Metre showing at least Peak value and clipping Led

- Routing and sidechain.

- Insert for submix ( To create some kind of group until routing is possible )

That's my basic requests :)

1. You can already do this. Cursor to the track number and just key it in on the number pad!

6. Currently, if a sound is assigned to a program, it's considered "used" by the MPC. Do you suggest the software being able to purge all samples that have no recorded midi note data on any track in any sequence?

7. A work around for this is to make a separate vst folder for Akai, copy all the vst files you want to use in the MPC, and point the MPC software only to that new location.

Just what I had in mind.

One feature I'm missing is recording into the MPC Plug-In on the Ren. I can't sample into the MPC software when it's loaded as a plug-in; only workaround is to use the DAW host and reimport etc.

Although I am eager to see what's happening in 1.6!

1. Yeah thats cool, but still takes quite a few seconds for that, I was thinking something along the lines of using the pads or tapping the Qlinks. Like if you hold Bank B button and press pad 3 or qlink 3 it will jump to track 19. Understand?

6. Yes that's exactly what I am saying. Even if a sound is in a "used" program. If any sound assigned to any pad in any program is not being used it should be purged from that program in that project.

7. I'm aware of this but I'm hesitant to go into my vst folders and start moving stuff around. Definitely the only option as of now.

So, i guess you would then like to save the "purged" project with a few deleted samples off the program. That would mean, if you already loaded that program in a different project, you have two different programs with the same name... Not that useful... I guess, this is why it's not working this way.

Alternatively, the "purged" program could be renamed PROGRAMXY_purged for example. But i don't really see any benefit. Saving 20MB of storage from each project? :?:
