Bug reports & end-user support for Akai's MPC Software 'controllers' including the new MPC Studio 2, the MPC Touch, MPC Renaissance & original MPC Studio and MPC StudioB lack.

Now the 1.6 is unofficially "imminent", the dev team could tell the features they're certain to bring in.

I think it's bad marketing. Whenever they announce something cool is on the way, it could stop somebody to buy something else and hold for the mpc update.

Any particular reason for keeping the secret ?

pure bullshit. Hiding the fact that something is **** in this product. Who cares if the competition is snooping. "Give them something to sweat about" is all I have to say.

Probably don't want to announce anything that might have to be removed before release if it doesn't work.

The 1.6 update was postponed within a day of being released, maybe they found something not working at the last minute. If that was something they had previously announced, and then they have to take it out, users would probably complain.

Just chill out, no point stressing over it, it will be available whenever it is, and will include what ever features it has, knowing in advance isn't really going to make much difference to anyone.

I predict that people that find 1.5 stable on their systems, will find 1.6 stable as well. Those that find 1.5 unstable, will also find 1.6 unstable. Until people fix the compatibility issues on their computer (hardware or VST related) they are going to crash.

 I think 'some' of the issues are people running old versions of cracked plugins.

Like the user who was complaining that their Waves Mercury Pack, or some collection of Waves plugins, were not working. Turns out they were on a version 8 crack, instead of the latest version 9...not really Akai's fault in that sort of situation.

This shit is enough of a house of cards without a ton of cracked plugins thrown into the mix.

And if you were then really looking forward to that feature/fix, and they have to remove that feature/fix at the last minute, due to a bug or incompatibility that needs to be dealt with before they release it, then you are going to be even more pissed than not knowing about it in the first place.

Honestly, I do not see any advantage to the user at all in knowing what will be in the next release, just unnecessary grief if they don't then follow through with the promises.

It will be available when they think it is ready, and it will include whatever they think is ready for release...knowing in advance is not going to change anything for the user.

I would rather they do it right, take the time to get it sorted, and make it as stable as possible before releasing it.

There must have been a major issue found for them to postpone release a day before it was scheduled to be released. I don't think Pete would have hinted it would be out before Christmas if he didn't expect it would be. What if that issue caused them to pull an advertised in advance feature, that you have been given the expectation that will be included, I'm sure you would be much more pissed that it has been pulled, than if you had no idea what was coming in the first place.

Not being unnecessarily negative, just looking at it realistically from their perspective.
