All of a sudden issue with my Ren or the software

I decided to start on some music today. To make a long story short my cpu meter on the npc software goes all the way up to green. Starts stuttering during playback, then no playback sound. OSX macbook pro 10.8.5 8 gigs of ram. I tried to restart in 64 but mode played fine after a few minutes or so the same thing happened. I have one drum kit loaded, 2 instances of massive, 1 of guitar rig, and 2 of absynth, any help or guidance will be appreciated.

I assume you rebooted?

for more grins, if you are not already, be sure you are plugged in directly to a USB 2.0 port and not 3.0..... this can be an issues especially if using the Ren as the audio device....

I rebooted a few times. No usb 3.0 on my computer. I think I have it tracked down to a belkin extension(usb) for the ten i just hooked up today. I am running software without it plugged in and so far so good. Going to try without the extension. crossing fingers

problem solved it was the usb extension cord(Belkin) Ren is back being solid. Thanks!

So glad! These things seem to be pretty sensitive when it comes to USB.

A general rule I go by,is to never use Hubs, try going directly to the cpu if possible, anything in the path that can get congested with usb bandwith can cause issues and bottle neck shit.

I really hope Akai decides to make a hardware mpc with direct connect for usb for bouncing down and software integration, but I do miss the days when I wasn't tied down to my cpu for issues like this.
