Q-Slider work around for Ren?

I am enjoying the Ren for what it is, as I also have the 2000XL so I get best of both worlds. My one very glaring gripe is the absence of a Q-Slider, I think they are more function for volume fades, filters and similar automated kinds of parameters.

Do any of you know if the XL or another device could supplement that kind of gesture via MIDI? In other words can't I just connect the XL or another midi device with Q-Sliders and get the same results? I hate to beat a dead horse when I know they have left Q-Sliders in the dust, but it would make my workflow better on the Ren since it has some great features if its own.

Good question.... I'm curious about this too with a 2500... Also, what about assigning q-links on the mpc software to sliders on a MIDI keyboard like an axiom or whatever? Anyone know how to do that?

I'was asking the same thing about the "Qlink-/fader-connection" between the Ren and the MPD26 few days ago in this forum... Would be happy to know if it is possible!

I'm definately interested in an answer to this. I don't own a Ren yet, but am thinking about it. And having no sliders is definately a turn off, as I use it offten to Chop sounds in and out (similar to a DJ chopping sounds). The slider is a big part of my production style.

However, if the ren is able to midi to a Mixer with sliders... that would be a huge plus as I would be able to connect faders that are even better than what akai provides on standard MPCs

As far as I know the current version of the MPC software does not allow you to control any parameters from an external controller. The exception to this is controlling VST instruments parameters (if the VST allows it). The MPC software doesn't as of yet let you control any of it's parameters from external gear. It will only receive and record/use MIDI note/velocity/aftertouch/program change data. They would have to allow the controls to be MIDI learned or set up some sort of controller standard like Mackie HUI for example.
