Today I started using the pad inserts instead of primarily using the sends for my FX and realized I could set up any of the insert parameters on the q links (on the FX page)
And this lead to some quite interesting 'sounds' (plus more ideas)
I know this is not a DAW style automation bonanza where absolutely everything is automatable but it's a good look until that becomes a reality, if ever. If you're doing any type of electronic music (house/techno/dubstep/grime/etc...) this is a very important aspect of production which I hope Akai take a sincere look at improving in future updates as it could potentially mean a full abandonment of the overly convoluted DAW from my production tools (granted there is a buss/group feature added into the Ren's mixer)
Anyway, I'm digressing.
For now the best FX automation work around is using pad inserts and setting the parameters you wish to control to which q links you wish to use and don't forget this is via your 'FX' option on the q link page (not prog q)
I'm probably a bit slow with this but thought I'd stick it up anyway just in case it helps someone out.
